The Pan’Auditorium is a temporary auditorium created for the International Wood Construction Forum 2025 at the Grand Palais. Initially built in CLT, it was then reinterpreted in 2026 using LVL. This second version makes the structure lighter and reduces the amount of material used by approximately one third. Despite these changes, the project retains its original ambition: to showcase the diversity of wood panels—structural, acoustic, technical, and decorative. It is based on a demountable structure composed of two interlocking loops, assembled without metal components, and designed to accommodate standardized panel dimensions, encouraging reuse.

From the earliest stages, the project relied on a close collaborative process involving architects, engineers, manufacturers, and students, in which models played a central role as tools for design and dialogue. These were developed at various scales, from 1:50 models by the Karawitz studio to full-scale 1:1 prototypes in the MEHA workshops, as well as intermediate models produced by the École Supérieure du Bois. This experimental approach, including structural testing, ensured consistency between design, fabrication, and implementation, while supporting logistics adapted to fast and simple assembly on a constrained site.

A true full-scale showroom, the Pan’Auditorium demonstrates the potential of wood within a sustainable, experimental, and educational approach.

The 119 panels are showcased thanks to sponsorship and donations from manufacturers: AB Pano, Drouin, ISB, Joubert, Laudescher, Malvaux, Novatop, Groupe Thébault, Lignotrend, Rahuel Bois, Swisskrono, Taylux, Valcromat, Woodenha.
