Designed in collaboration with the engineering firm Eckersley O’Callaghan (EOC), this project responds to the call for contributions for Mayotte launched by Séquence Bois magazine in 2025, following the devastating impact of Cyclone Chido on the island.
The Bamboomero system addresses a contemporary paradox: mobilizing global expertise to stimulate local production. It is based on a reinterpretation of vernacular construction methods, adapted to current technologies. By simplifying often complex technical principles and systems, the project becomes accessible to non-specialists, turning architecture into a collective and unifying act capable of supporting reconstruction and the reappropriation of the territory after a natural disaster.
